GypSys was incorporated in 1975 as a merit shop construction company with our primary focus on light commercial drywall.
During the early 1980s, as merit shop construction gained traction in Western New York, we grew to a field workforce of 70 and an office staff of four, and moved to West Seneca, New York.
In the early 1990s, responding to an influx of construction managers in the market, GypSys continued to focus on the commercial side of the business. Successfully completing projects that were both large and complicated brought us even more business. As we grew, we relocated to Elma, New York, where we diversified from our drywall beginnings to conventional lath and plaster, acoustic ceilings, access flooring, rough and finish carpentry, steel studs, exterior cold-formed metal framing, trim carpentry, and finish casework while continuing to learn and grow our expertise to meet our client’s needs. Our most recent certification includes ABAA, air and vapor barrier systems.
The building of our organization starts with continuous education of its employees. This culture empowers GypSys for the benefit of its customers, employees, and management.
